The image above shows the initial course such as we were to carry it out, with the various stages. At the base, 3,800 miles.
Finally, after 30 days of roads and tracks, crossed 4 states, we travelled about 5,000 miles. Why this difference?
First of all, it is never possible to predict, calculate anything; 2 or 3 round trips Paria Station - Page for example add 130 or 200 miles. Then, the weather and a vehicle not 4WD as planned have constrained us to modify locally, at once, the course. Lastly, the loss (fortunately recovered) of part of our photos involved us in a loop not envisaged because we did not plan to return without certain photos, in particular of Bryce Canyon.
Here thus the final map, representing the distance traveled; as you can note, few differences.
We started with the southern part, ie. Phoenix-Tucson to avoid excessive hot weather mid-June and, anyway, the camp-site of Cedar Breaks generally opens in early June, even mid-June due to snow; we had not much choice.
