Summary USA 2012

Home

The above image shows the original route as planned in January 2012. About 6,200 miles, counting only the major routes without incorporating all the small trips. We should exceed 9,000 miles.

Direction of travel

As we begin with a brief visit to our friends, there was not much choice. From Los Angeles towards Sedona, Grand Canyon South and North (Toroweap) and finally Page with among others, five days on Lake Powell. Then we leave Arizona for Utah where, in 20 days, we drive the eastern part of the state up to Flaming Gorge. Then, the Wyoming state with its magnificent park of Yellowstone and finally San Francisco for the return flight.

The final circuit was perfectly in line with expectations and we had only 6,400 miles in 61 days.

Stage length

Well, a journey especially "slow", very suitable for our needs. And yet, I almost felt like running continuously, despite our 60 days, probably due to overloaded program and / or the way we visit, wishing always see everything near us.

Route

Given the length of the path and the duration of the journey, I found better to cut our report in 4 parts for easier reading:

Part 1

    Arrival, California and Arizona:

Part 2

    Lake Powell:

Part 3

    Southern Utah:

Part 4

Northern Utah, Wyoming and San Francisco:
